(WWJ) -- The National Weather Service announced Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for Wayne, Washtenaw, Livingston and Monroe counties on Thursday evening.
Additionally, a Tornado Warning was issued by NWS for Monroe County, with "strong rotation" spotted.
-Monroe County -- Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warning expired at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
-Wayne County -- Severe Thunderstorm Warning expired at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
-Livingston County -- Severe Thunderstorm Warning expired at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
-Washtenaw County -- Severe Thunderstorm Warning expired at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, hail — about an inch in diameter — was spotted near Canton, Dexter and Pinckney, with residents in Howell and Flat Rock reporting golf-ball sized hail.
As of 7:30 p.m., DTE Energy was reporting about 5,300 customers without power, with most of the outages in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Pinckney and near Detroit Beach in Monroe County.
