Shooting at Troy apartment complex injures 2; suspects on the run

TROY (WWJ) -- Troy police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex that injured two people.

On Thursday at 9:52 p.m., the Troy Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the parking lot 700 Lamplighter at The Gables of Troy Apartments.

Responding officers arrived in the area and stopped a vehicle fleeing the apartment complex.

Officials say the vehicle was occupied by two of the shooting victims. Officers and responding paramedics treated injuries on scene and both were transported to a local hospital. Both victims are currently in stable condition, say police.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex, where officers say they recovered one handgun.

Preliminary information indicates there were two groups of males involved in the altercation.

There is currently no one in custody at this time as the investigation on the events leading up to the shooting is ongoing.

Police say this shooting appears to be an isolated incident, so there is no threat to the public.
