Shooting on Detroit's west side leaves 3 men hospitalized, 2 women hurt by broken glass

DETROIT (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after five people were shot on Detroit’s west side early Sunday morning.

Detroit police tell WWJ three men and two women were leaving the area of Plymouth and Littlefield – just south of I-96 and Grand River – around 3:40 a.m. when someone opened fire on them.

The three men were hit by gunfire, while the women received minor injuries from broken glass.

Officials said two of the men were in stable condition on Sunday afternoon, while the other was in critical condition.

The victims were privately taken to a hospital.

Authorities have not released any information about a possible suspect or a motive in the shooting.
