DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating a shooting at Detroit Coney Island restaurant early Tuesday morning that reportedly involved at least two victims.
WWJ's Mike Campbell reported live from the scene of L George's Coney Island on Warren Ave, east of the Southfield Freeway where officers were processing the scene in the 5 a.m. hour on June 13th.
"They have a double shooting is what we're told and it hasn't been confirmed yet, but apparently they had two people shot here," Campbell reported. 'They have police all over."
Campbell said details about the incident remain unclear, but a number of officers were present and about a block down the road, going east on Warren, an evidence tech crew was taking photos in the middle of the street.
"And then they have in the parking lot of the L George's, a white four door sedan with the doors splayed open, they're taking a look at that," he continued. "They also have police inside the restaurant at this point."
Campbell police ended up hauling away the sedan as they wrapped up their investigation.
"As soon as they left, people were in line inside for food," Campbell added.
Additional information was not released by authorities. So far, the exact number of victims and the extent of their injuries remains unknown.
Details about the incident are expected to be released as they become available.
