DETROIT (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after a security guard allegedly made a shooting threat at 36th District Court in downtown Detroit Monday.
Authorities say a security guard got into an argument with a judge and a police lieutenant and made comments about coming back and “shooting up” the court, located near Brush and Madison Streets, just south of Ford Field.

While officials do not believe there was ever any real threat, the court closed early out of an abundance of caution. It is expected to reopen Tuesday morning.
It was not clear what prompted the fight between the security guard and judge.
Detroit police spokesperson Rudy Harper tells WWJ the suspect is in his 60s and they are still investigating charges. He says police are taking the threat seriously.
