DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway on Detroit's west side after human skeletal remains were found in a vacant apartment.
According to Detroit Police, this happened at around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment building in the 5200 block of S. Clarendon, in the area of I-96 and Joy Rd.
A spokesman for the DPD told WWJ Newsradio 950 that a contractor who was working inside a vacant apartment unit found what appears to be human remains.
He called 911, and police responded to investigate.
It's unclear at this time how long the remains were there, how the person died, or if foul play was involved in the case.
