DETROIT (WWJ) -- A little snow and fluctuating temperatures could cause icy, dicey conditions on roads and freeways to wrap up the week in Metro Detroit.
It will all start with flurries falling in some areas Thursday night, WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore said, before the snowfall gets steadier early Friday morning.
DeVore said snow in the air for the morning commute is going to "cause some problems" for drivers — with a coating to an inch of accumulation making for slippery driving as temperatures are just at, or below the freezing mark.
AccuWeather says the snow will turn to rain showers Friday afternoon, as temps warm up just briefly to around 40 degrees.
"Then be ready because the cold air just plunges back here Friday night, as temperatures crash to near 20...and we go over to heavy snow showers by daybreak," DeVore said.
"There's going to be icy spots as temperatures stay around the low 20s all day (Saturday)," he added.
Sunday will stay bitterly cold, with highs around 20 degrees, and flurries and another snow shower expected.
DeVore said temps will remain in the low to mid-20s on Monday "as the cold air is baked in" for the early part of next week.
