FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- A young Southfield man is facing sexual abuse charges in connection with a pair of alleged incidents at a Farmington Hills Kroger.

According to the Farmington Hills Police Department, 20-year-old Deon Grant followed a woman in the store, Middlebelt Road, last Thursday and poured "an unknown liquid" on the back of her pants near her buttocks, before leaving the store.

He allegedly came back to the same store on Monday and did the same thing to another woman.

Grant was arrested on Monday, as he tried to leave the store.

Police said investigators are testing the women's pants to determine what liquid he poured on them.

Grant, meanwhile, has been charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

“The Farmington Hills Police Department is deeply committed to ensuring the safety of our community and holding people who violate that sense of safety accountable for their actions,” said Farmington Hills Police Chief John Piggott, in a statment. “We are working diligently to investigate these incidents and provide answers to those affected.”

Grant was arraigned in 47th District Court and was released on a $10,000 personal bond. As a condition of his bond, he is not allowed to return to the Kroger store.

Grant is due back in court on Sept. 19.

Anyone with more information related to these incidents is asked to call the Farmington Hills PD at 248-871-2610.
