DETROIT (WWJ) – Downtown Street Eats are set to return to Detroit next month and organizers are looking for food trucks to participate.
The Street Eats have become a popular place to get grub for Detroiters in recent years, with food trucks, carts and pop-ups setting up shop near Campus Martius Park in Cadillac Square and along the Woodward Esplanade.
A variety of local food options are available for Detroiters during lunchtime on weekdays and special events.
The Downtown Detroit Partnership says this year’s Street Eats will run from May 16-Oct. 14, as they plan to have a rotating fleet of about 75 trucks and carts throughout the season.
Officials with the DDP are now calling for food truck owners to apply for this season. Those interested in setting up shop for Downtown Street Eats can apply online at app.perfectvenue.com/venues/downtown-detroit-food-trucks/hello.
Prime summer spots are filling up fast, so organizers are encouraging operators to sign up quickly.
Once the fleet is booked and scheduled, the food truck lineup will be available on the DDP’s website. In the meantime, a list of food trucks across the city can be found on the Roaming Hunger website.
