COTRELLVILLE TWP. (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a two-vehicle crash killed a man on Wednesday in St. Clair County, sheriffs' officials said.
The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office said their Central Dispatch learned of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Shea and Starville roads in Cottrellville Township, at around 4 p.m. on April 9.
The initial investigation revealed Joseph Richard Quesnell, 52 of Clay Township, was driving his 2024 Ford Ranger southbound on Starville Road.
Video evidence showed he stopped, then began to move through the intersection. At that time, a 25-year-old Clay Township man, driving westbound in a 2019 Ram pickup, struck him; investigators said.
Quessnell was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to sheriffs' officials; the Ram driver is cooperating with the investigation. At this time; alcohol, drugs and excessive speed do not appear to be factors.
