St. Clair Shores man charged with murder for allegedly beating mother to death found incompetent to stand trial: prosecutors

ST CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) A St. Clair Shores man, charged with beating his elderly mother to death, was found incompetent to stand trial for the time being.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office; Armando Jourdain Streeter, 46, beat his 76-year-old mother to death with a broomstick handle. Authorities said it happened on April 5, at the St. Clair Shores home they shared.

A competency hearing took place on Tuesday, June 10, in St. Clair Shores 40th District Court. Judge Mark Fratarcanegli determined Streeter was not competent to stand trial at this time. However, the competency report stated he was likely to regain competency with treatment.

A review hearing is slated to be held in approximately 90 days.

Streeter is charged with Second Degree Homicide-Murder and Assault with Intent to Murder. He is being held without bond. He faces the possibility of life in prison.
