(WWJ) Charges are pending against a driver who allegedly pointed a BB gun during a road rage incident in Washtenaw County.

Michigan State Police troopers was called to the scene, along M-14 at Ridge Road, on Monday on a complaint about a felonious assault before a crash on the freeway.

MSP said an investigation found that the drivers involved were traveling eastbound on M-14 when they began arguing with each other.

It was alleged, police said, that one of the drivers pointed a firearm at the other, causing a crash. The victim reported seeing the suspect throw the weapon after they were separated, deep into the thick brush off of M-14.

MSP K9s responded to the scene; and, after a five-hour search through the brush, K9 “Rex” located the gun lying in the grass a good distance off of the freeway. As it turned out, police said, the pistol was a look alike BB gun.
