State Police: Northbound Lodge at Davison reopens after freeway shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating yet another freeway shooting in Detroit.

WWJ’s Charlie Langton reports that troopers responded to a call just before 4:00 a.m. on Monday on the northbound lanes of the Lodge Freeway near Livernois.

The victim -- a man from Southfield -- says he was leaving downtown Detroit when a man driving a black Ford started yelling at him, and then fired multiple rounds into the passenger side of his car.

He then continued to drive home, where he called 911.

According to the victim, there hadn’t been a road-rage incident, and he is unsure what prompted the suspect to shoot at him.

Northbound M-10 at eastbound Davison was temporarily shut down on Monday morning while police searched for shell casings.

The freeway has now been reopened, and the investigation in ongoing.
