(WWJ) Michigan State Police believe road rage was to blame for a shooting on I-94 in the downtown Detroit area Sunday night.
Police said the situation was sparked at around 7 p.m., in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, between Woodward Ave. and I-75.
When a driver pumped the brakes, another driver who was behind him pulled in front and then pumped his brakes, according to investigators.
That's when the first driver pulled alongside the other car and allegedly fired two to three shots.
The shooter got away by exiting the freeway at Van Dyke Ave., MSP said.
Detectives, who spent the night investigating, were able to track down the suspect vehicle with the help of surveillance footage. Troopers then executed a search warrant, and the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspect's name and other details are being withheld at this time, with formal charges pending.
The victim's car was damaged, but no injuries were reported.
