BUENA VISTA CHARTER TWP (WWJ) -- A Michigan State Police trooper received treatment for minor injuries after a driver struck a parked patrol car on I-75 near Saginaw Friday evening.
According to MSP, the police vehicle was on northbound I-75 at Hess Rd -- just south of M-46 in Saginaw County -- when it was struck by another car.
The state trooper had to be treated for minor injuries, but it is unclear whether the officer was in the car or nearby when the crash occurred.
"Please #SlowDown & #MoveOver for emergency vehicles. If you can avoid travel tonight, stay home!" MSP said on Twitter.
Several other crashes were also impacting traffic conditions on northbound I-75, and MSP opted to close the freeway from Exit 131 at Vienna Rd to Exit 149 at M-46 just before 7 p.m.
Local, county and state police were out in full force Friday, along with fire rescue teams, paramedics and tow truck drivers as a fierce winter storm blew across Michigan.
