DETROIT (WWJ) -- Stellantis workers will be receiving their largest profit- sharing checks in 35 years -- nearly $15,000.

The 43,000 UAW represented employees at Stellantis will be bringing home $14,670 next month. An amount that blows away the roughly $10,000 that GM workers earned and $7,300 at Ford.

WWJ AutoBeat Reporter Jeff Gilbert says Stellantis--formed out of the merger of Fiat Chrysler (FCA) and Peugeot S.A. (PSA) -- posted a $15.2 billion net profit in the first year of the merger in 2021.

This amount triples what PSA and FCA brought in during 2020.

According to Gilbert, Stellantis says they are well-positioned for a strong performance this year as well.

The eligible amount is based on individual compensated hours and the checks are expected to be paid out on March 11.
