TROY (WWJ) -- A Macomb County man is facing criminal charges in Oakland County after it's alleged he snapped upskirt photos of a woman at Walmart.
Shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, officers were called to store on W. Maple Road, near Crooks Road in Troy, on a report about a man who was "taking pictures up the skirt of an unsuspecting female customer," according to Troy Police.
Police said the suspect must have realized that a store security guard saw what he'd done, because he got spooked and left the store.
The suspect got into his car and drove away, but was spotted by responding police officers who pulled him over.
Officers who spoke with the man, identified as a 35-year-old Sterling Heights resident, said he admitted to being at Walmart but denied taking photos of anyone at the store.
When questioned further, however, police said the suspect eventually admitted to taking the illicit photos.
Police said the man gave officers the OK to search his phone, and that's when they found videos of the victim.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts: Capturing an Image of an Unclothed Person, and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.
His name was not immediately released.
