STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- A 52-year-old Sterling Heights man is facing charges after authorities say he robbed a bank in Sterling Heights on Wednesday.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, at around 1:30 p.m. on July 23, Armand Saroli walked into the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money.

The teller gave him the money and he left, but he was later tracked down by police and arrested.

No one was hurt.

Saroli was arraigned in the 41-A Sterling Heights District Court on one count of bank robbery, which is a felony punishable by any numbers of years up to life in prison.

Saroli's bond was set at $750,000 cash/surety, no 10%. If he is released on bond, the judge ordered that Saroli must wear a GPS steel cuff tether, cannot posses any guns or ammunition, and is prohibited from contacting anyone at the bank.

"These charges reflect our commitment to holding offenders accountable to the full extent of the law to ensure justice and safety for our businesses and the community as a whole," said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido, in a statement.

Officials did not disclose which bank it was that Saroli allegedly robbed.

Saroli is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing in two weeks.
