Student found with loaded gun, arrested for alleged shooting threat at Taylor High School

(WWJ) A Taylor High School student is in custody after allegedly threatening to shoot a school security officer.

According to a spokesperson for the City of Taylor, police were called to the school Wednesday morning, where they found a 15-year-old boy with a loaded pistol inside a fanny pack.

Upon investigation, officers found that the serial numbers on the gun had been filed off, the spokesperson said.

No shots were fired, no one was hurt, and no students or teachers were threatened.

The teen was arrested without incident and taken to the Wayne County juvenile detention center.

Officials said the suspect is a resident of Inkster who is a student at Taylor High. His name will not be release due to his age.

Police have not yet identified a motive for the incident, and it's not clear what charges the teen may face as the investigation continues.
