TAYLOR (WWJ) -- A 19-year-old student is facing a felony charge after it's alleged he made threats to blow up an educational facility Downriver.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Wednesday announced the case against 19-year-old Malik Eugene Adams in connection with a bomb threat against the Taylor Career Center, an extension of Taylor High School.
Just after 10 a.m. on Monday, Taylor Police officers responded to the center, in the 9600 block of Westlake Street, west of Telegraph Rd., after reports came in about a student making threats.
Prosecutors said officers spoke with a witness who said Adams was removed from class for a disruption, before he threatened to blow up the school.
Adams was arraigned Tuesday in 23rd District Court before Judge Geno Salomone on one count of Report or Threat of Bomb/Harmful Device.
Bond was set at $1,000 cash and Adams' next court appearance, a Probable Cause Conference, was scheduled for March 21.
No explosive device was fond and no one was hurt.
