TROY (WWJ) -- A Macomb County woman is facing charges after police say she drove drunk, causing a crash in Oakland County.
As detailed in a report released by the Troy Police Department on Monday, officers responded to the scene of the crash on Big Beaver Rd. at Coolidge Highway, at around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, June 14.
Speaking with the at-fault driver, identified as a 26-year-old woman from Harrison Township, police said they noted she was unsteady on her feet, her eyes were bloodshot and watery, she was slurring her speech, and she smelled like booze.
The woman was asked to preform a series of sobriety tests, and when she failed the tests she refused to take a breathalyzer, police said.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Troy PD lock-up where she agreed to submit to a Chemical Breath Test with results of .186% and .182%.
Police said woman was issued a citation for Operating with a Blood Alcohol Content of .17% or More and PBT Refusal.
Under Michigan's "Super Drunk Laws," drivers with a BAC more than twice the state's legal limit of .08% face stiffer penalties — including up to 180 days in jail if convicted.
The woman's name was not immediately released.
Police did not release any details about the crash itself, and no injuries were reported.
