
YPSILANTI (WWJ) -- An Eastern Michigan University Police officer is going to be OK, according to authorities, after he was hit by a car early Monday.
The crash happened just after 12 a.m. on Oct. 13, on Leforge Road at Woburn Drive in Ypsilanti, just north of the EMU campus.
According to Eastern Michigan officials, a driver rammed a police officer with their car during a traffic stop, and then drove off.
Officers tracked down and arrested the suspect, who was found to be driving on a suspended license.
The injuries to the officer were minor, according to an EMU spokesperson.
The driver is expected to face multiple charges, including aggravated felonious assault against a police officer, and fleeing and eluding police.
The driver's name was not immediately released, pending an arraignment.
