ALLEN PARK (WWJ) – The search is on for a suspect who fired shots during an attempted carjacking Downriver Thursday morning.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. in the area of Allen Road and McLain Avenue in Allen Park, according to police.
Allen Park police officials say the suspect followed the victim from another city. They fired one shot while trying to steal the victim's car, but no one was hit.
Authorities did not specify the other city.
Police officials did not provide a description of the suspect or either car involved in the incident.
The suspect fled the scene and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the attempted carjacking or knows something about the case to call the Allen Park Detective Bureau at 313-386-7800, ext. 3.
