Michigan State Police looking for suspect who fired over a dozen shots into parked Ford Bronco in Royal Oak Twp.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. when a resident called police, reporting they heard about a dozen gunshots near their home on Ithaca, just north of 8 Mile near Wyoming, according to Michigan State Police.

When troopers showed up they found a Ford Bronco parked in a driveway on Ithaca with multiple bullet holes on the driver's side.

MSP officials say another car parked next to the Bronco was also hit, but it didn't appear to be the target.

No one was sitting in either vehicle at the time of the shooting, according to MSP.

Preliminary investigation found that an unknown suspect stood in the grass in front of the home and shot into the vehicle 14 times, as evidence technicians recovered shell casings.

A possible motive is not known, as the owners of the cars were unable to provide any possible suspects, according to MSP.

The shell casings will be sent to the lab for processing.

"We are hopeful that someone in the neighborhood saw this incident and will contact the Metro North Post or Crime Stoppers." MSP First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "We are lucky one of those rounds did not enter someone's home."

Anyone who knows something about the shooting is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
