
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who faked being a cop and shot another man during an incident on the city's east side on Wednesday.
According to the Detroit Police Department, the suspect was allegedly involved in a non-fatal shooting that happened around 1: 45 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 19300 block of Conant between Seven Mile Road and East Outer Drive.
Police claim the man open fired on a male victim in his 50s during an argument while the two were driving, the Detroit News reported.
The suspect had identified himself as a police officer before the incident, authorities added, and had followed the victim.

Police said the suspect was wearing a baseball hat with the word "Police" in white lettering on . He was dressed in black clothing and had a light-colored firearm with him.
The suspect was driving a white car, identified as a 2015 or 2016 Chevrolet Malibu.
