Man suspected of running over, killing 53-year-old Redford gas station clerk arrested by U.S. Marshals

REDFORD (WWJ) -- A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a 53-year-old Redford gas station clerk over a month ago.

According to Redford police, on Feb. 27, suspects entered the Marathon station along Telegraph Road, near I-96, multiple times and stole several items.

Gerry then told the person to get out and chased the suspects out into the parking lot, right before he was run over.

He was taken to the hospital but died weeks later, on March 16, from a brain tumor.

Redford Police Captain Al DiPrima said Wednesday that the U.S. Marshals captured the suspect in the slaying and could appear in court as early as Thursday.

DiPrima didn't say where the suspect was arrested. He was also not identified.
