
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are on the hunt for suspects who allegedly committed two late-night car jackings exactly one week apart in Detroit.
The Detroit Police Department said the the first incident occurred on Saturday, March 18 before a second case was reported seven days later on Saturday, March 25 -- now police are asking the community for help in tracking down those responsible.
According to officers, a 38-year-old man was using at drive-thru ATM in the 13900 block of Livernois on March 18 when two men in a U-Haul truck pulled up at apporximently 11:45 p.m.
Authorities said the suspects were armed and approached the man, demanding the keys to his dark gray Chrysler 300. The victim got out of his car and one of the suspects hopped in and took off.
The second suspect fled the scene in the U-Haul. Police said the Chrysler was found in Oakland County the next day, but the suspects — whose descriptions were not provided — remain at large.


Investigators with the Detroit Police Department’s Commercial Auto Theft Unit received their second case a week later, when a 51-year-old female was approached around 12:10 a.m. on March 25.
Police said the woman was inside her white 2013 Cadillac SRX at a gas station in the 10200 block of Rose Parks Blvd. when a man came up to her and demanded her car.
The woman complied and the suspect took off in her Cadillac, last seen heading northbound of Rosa Parks Blvd. Police were able to review surveillance footage from the gas station, which participates in the city's Project Green Light program, and released the following images of the man allegedly involved.
The suspect is described as a male, 40’s, 5’10”, and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, light colored surgical mask, and all black clothing.


There were no injuries reported in either incident.
