DETROIT (WWJ) -- The search is on for a pair of men who Detroit police say threw a fit and caused a mess during an altercation at a restaurant on the city's southwest side.

Authorities say just after 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, a man apparently got into a verbal altercation with employees at the Telway Hamburgers located in the 6800 block of Michigan Avenue, a few blocks west of Livernois.

While he was arguing with employees, a second suspect entered the restaurant and also began arguing with employees.

That's when the second suspect threw food at the bullet proof glass at the counter, smearing it all over the glass.

Both suspects pounded on the glass several times before exiting the Telway and fleeing in a blue 2013-2017 Buick Verano. Police have released a surveillance photo of the vehicle in hopes of tracking the suspects down.

The other suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, also approximately 5-foot-9 and 140 lbs. He has short black hair and a moustache, and was last seen wearing a leopard print shawl, black pants and black and gold dress shows.

Detroit police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information regarding the crime to contact the Detroit Police Department's Fourth Precinct at 313-596-5440. Calls can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
