FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) – Farmington Hills police are investigating a “suspicious incident” at a bus stop earlier this week after a woman approached a student.

The “stranger danger” incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Monday at a bus stop in a subdivision near the 12 Mile and Inkster Roads, according to police.

The woman, described by police as “possibly Hispanic,” approached a 16-year-old student in a dark gray SUV and said “I’m one of your neighbors. Do you want a ride home?”

When the student declined the ride, the woman drove off, according to police. No further information was given and it was not clear if she is a resident in the area.

Officials say the department has increased patrols at all bus stops and is working with the Farmington Public School District to address safety concerns.

Anyone who knows something about the incident is asked to call the Farmington Hills Police Department Command Desk at 248-871-2610.
