TAYLOR (WWJ) — A Taylor man has been accused of hitting and killing a woman’s dog and fleeing the scene earlier this week.

The woman rushed her dog to a local animal hospital, where the dog died of its injuries. Authorities did not specify what type of dog Newman allegedly hit and it was unclear if it was on a leash at the time.

Investigators eventually identified Newman as the suspected driver and arrested him on Wednesday.
