Taylor Police search for "armed and dangerous" person of interest in Easter shooting

TAYLOR (WWJ) Taylor Police are searching for an "armed and dangerous" person of interest in the shooting of a man in the chest on Easter.


Taylor Police said the shooting happened on Sunday, April 5, around 8:50 p.m. on Pond Village Drive, in the area of Inkster and Eureka.





Officers arrived on scene and found a man with a gunshot wound to his chest. They provided him life-saving care until first responders arrived. The Taylor Fire Department rushed him to the hospital where he's listed in stable condition.


Authorities identified Joshua Obie, 25, as a Person of Interest. He allegedly ran away from the scene before officers arrived--and is considered "armed and dangerous."


He's 5'11" and known to frequent Detroit.


No information was released about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, or the connection between Obie and the victim, if any.
