DETROIT (WWJ) -- A teenager is dead after crashing a car on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit, early Thursday morning.
Michigan State Police said troopers responded at around 12:40 a.m. to the northbound lanes of the Lodge at I-94, to find a wrecked Nissan Altima.
Investigators determined that the 19-year-old driver lost control, went up the embankment and hit a tree.
The young man, from Battle Creek, was found to be unresponsive with no pulse. He was later pronounced dead on the scene, MSP said.
No one else was hurt.
While the teen is not being publicly identified at this time, police said his family has been notified.
MSP said the investigating is ongoing, pending medical examiner reports.
