INKSTER (WWJ) – An 18-year-old accused of a fatal shooting at an Inkster liquor store last month has been arrested.
Michigan State Police officials say Allen Marion was arrested Sunday night without incident after spending around seven weeks on the run after allegedly killing another teen at the 25 Hour Liquor store on Michigan Avenue back on Aug. 6.
Authorities had put out several pleas for help in finding Marion, who they believed was getting assistance from someone else.
"If you are aware of a fugitive hiding in your community, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or leave a tip on our mobile app. You can help make your community safer with these tips," MSP officials said in a tweet following Marion's arrest.
It was not clear whether police arrested anyone who believed to be helping Marion elude capture.
Authorities had issued a warrant for second-degree murder, discharging a firearm into a building and felony firearm. The public had been warned that he was armed and dangerous.
The alleged shooting happened after the victim went to the party store on Aug. 6 with a friend. Witnesses say as he was walking out, he exchanged words with someone else who had pulled up in a car, according to a report from Fox 2. While it wasn't clear what escalated the situation, officials said the suspect pulled out a gun and fired shots.
