BERKLEY (WWJ) – Three teens could be facing charges for allegedly stealing a car and fleeing police in Berkley over Memorial Day weekend.

The suspects, who range in ages 13-16, were spotted in a car around 2:30 a.m. on May 28. Authorities say the car had been reported stolen about a half hour earlier.

Berkley police officials on Monday released dash cam and body cam footage showing officers chasing the suspects in a residential neighborhood.

The suspects fled on foot after coming to a dead end. Footage shows police using a K-9 to track them. One suspect, who told police he was 13, was found alone near Southfield Road and Goldengate Drive.

The other two suspects, ages 15 and 16 were found together near Goldengate and Catalpa Drive.

An officer is heard on the video telling the 16-year-old suspect “you ran far with Crocs on. I’ll give you credit."

Police officials say they’re seeking charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing and eluding and obstruction.

Authorities have not said where the car was allegedly stolen from.
