DETROIT (WWJ) -- If you’ve walked up and down Woodward Avenue in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood, there’s a chance you've passed right by one of Detroit’s spookiest spots…and not even realized it.

Many are familiar with The Whitney mansion and its myriad of ghost stories, but fewer know about the building’s equally (if not more) ‘haunted’ Carriage House.

Now, Detroiters will have the chance to go inside the building, and possibly even take a piece of it home with them.

The Whitney is hosting an estate sale inside its Carriage House this weekend, and everything must go — though perhaps, not the ghosts.

The sale is happening on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the ground floor of the building, which is located just behind The Whitney mansion at 4421 Woodward Avenue and W. Canfield Street.

Some of the items that are up for grabs include antique furniture, china, serving dishes, cutlery, paintings, decor, pieces of Detroit memorabilia and more.

On Saturday, all items will be 25% off, and anything that's left on Sunday will be marked down to 50% off.

The Whitney has not yet revealed what The Carriage House will become once the items have been cleared out.

As it stands today, the building hosts paranormal tours during the Halloween season, but is otherwise relatively unused.

According to The Whitney’s Facebook page, a portion of the proceeds made from the estate sale this weekend will go to The Tiny Home Project at Cass Community Social Services.
