DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are investigating an attempted smash-and-grab robbery at a CVS Pharmacy store on the city's west side.
Thieves crashed a pickup truck into the front of the store at the corner of McNichols and Wyoming
Reporting from the scene, WWJ's Luke Sloan said an ATM — which is typically the target of these sorts of crimes — was still inside the store.
"Debris scattered on the sidewalk and the parking lot, and this smashed up pickup truck," Sloan said. "It appears the pickup backed into the building, breaking the windows and the front wall of the CVS. No word on any suspect information, or if these suspects potentially got away with any merchandise."
This is at least the second time this particular CVS has been targeted by thieves in this way.
As the investigation continues. WWJ is working to get more information from the police department.
