DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police say a reported threat to a polling location in the city has been found not to be credible, following an investigation.
According to a spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department, the DPD on Monday received a 911 call from a person who claimed to have heard a threat to a polling place, located in the 21600 block of W. Seven Mile Rd.
Police said the alleged threat was made in a Facebook post, but did not share any details about what was allegedly said.
The DPD said it was working with its law enforcement partners to locate the post, identify the person responsible for the post, assess the threat reportedly made, and to respond accordingly.
In an update shared with WWJ Newsradio 950 on Election Day, police said the threat was "deemed not credible."
"The DPD is committed toward ensuring public safety at all polling locations during this election cycle," the DPD added, in a statement.
No further information was released.
