HARRISON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Three people are in custody in Macomb County after authorities say they were driving a stolen vehicle.
Police say that the three were driving in a Ford Edge earlier today that was reported stolen.
The vehicle was initially spotted near Joy Boulevard and Executive Drive. A Macomb County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to stop the vehicle when it was on Executive Drive. The vehicle attempted to evade the police, but the driver ultimately stopped behind a business on Executive Drive, police said.
Two of the occupants, a 37-year old man from Harrison Township and an 18-year-old man from Detroit, fled from the vehicle. A 25-year-old woman from Detroit remained in the vehicle and was arrested.
One of the male suspects was arrested just north of the vehicle, following a pursuit by a deputy, police said.
A perimeter was set up to contain the third suspect, and a K9 unit and drone were also deployed.
The third suspect was arrested after a citizen reported to police that they saw a person who matched the suspect’s description in the bushes behind a building on Irwin Street. The suspect was arrested without incident, authorities said.
All three suspects are at the Macomb County Jail.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said he appreciated the “Good Samaritan” who reported the third suspect’s location.
