(WWJ) Dearborn police say a person of interest is in custody following a shooting over the weekend.
On Sunday, Oct. 18, at around 5:40 p.m., Dearborn officers responded to the area of Warren Ave near Chase on a report of shots fired.
The suspect vehicle -- described as an early 2000s green Honda Accord four-door sedan with a blue/gray colored passenger side door -- was last seen fleeing southbound on Greenfield from Warren Ave. The victim was not injured, according to police.
Police on Monday released images of the suspect -- wanted on an assault with intent to murder charge -- as well as his vehicle, hoping someone on the public could help to identify him.
Acting on a tip from a concerned citizen on Tuesday, the Dearborn Special Operations Officers located and arrested a man police are calling a "person-of-interest" in the case.
The man's identity is being withheld pending formal charges from the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement: "As a result of our excellent partnership with local media outlets and with the cooperation of concerned citizens, a swift arrest was made and our communities are safer."

Police did not say if the victim was specifically targeted or why, or what the motive might have been.
No further details were released.
