DETROIT (WWJ) -- Nearly two years after a man robbed a McDonald's in Detroit, police are still looking for him.
That's despite the fact that he was caught on camera at the time of the crime, just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.
According to investigators, the suspect walked into the fast food restaurant, located at 2889 W. Grand Blvd., near the Lodge Freeway and the Fisher Building in the city's New Center area, and ordered a sandwich.
When the man — wearing a black hoodie, a blue ballcap and sunglasses — received his sandwich it's alleged he held his hand on his waistband like he had a gun and then demanded $20 bills from the cash register.
An employee handed over the cash and the suspect fled on foot, headed eastbound on W. Grand Blvd. and then southbound on Second Street, police said.
No weapon was seen and no injuries were reported.
With no arrests to date, Crime Stoppers of Michigan is hoping new information from the public could help solve this cold case.
Anyone who can identify the man in the photos, or who has any information whatsoever about the incident is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587) or on their website, 1800speakup.org. As always, those who contact Crime Stoppers will remain 100% anonymous and will not be required to speak to police or to testify in court.
A $1,000 cash reward is available for the tip that leads to an arrest, and all rewards are paid anonymously.
