
DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department is asking for tips from the public as they investigate a deadly stabbing on the city's Southwest side.
At around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, police said a 31-year-old man was outside a business in the 7400 block of Dix when he was stabbed by an unknown suspect.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries. His name was not released.
Police did not disclose the name of the business. There are a couple of Mexican restaurants, a gas station and a liquor store in that area.
A motive for this crime is unknown, as police are still searching for the stabber.

On Friday, the DPD released a photo of a person of who was in the area at the time of the incident. Calling the man in the image a "person of interest" in this crime, police said they're looking for speak with him.
