PITTSFIELD TWP. (WWJ) -- Several roads in the Ann Arbor area are expected to be closed for days after a train derailment, Wednesday morning.

According to police in Washtenaw County's Pittsfield Township, the train went off the tracks just after 5 a.m. along Payeur Rd., east of State St.

A total of 13 rail cars were involved in the wreck, police said, but none of the cars were carrying hazardous material.

There were no other vehicles involved, and no injuries were reported.

Payeur Road between State Street and Marton Road is closed as well as Morgan Road between Venture Dr. and Stone School Road as a result of the derailment.

Those closures are expected to stay in place "possibly for several days", police said, while cleanup of the wreck continues.

Police said there is no public safety hazard as a result of this derailment.

Updates on the road closure and reopening of the roadways will be published by Pittsfield Township on their Facebook page.

An investigation into what caused the derailment is ongoing.
