DETROIT (WWJ) -- A truck driver was trapped inside a flipped over semi-truck on a local freeway on Friday, according to Michigan State Police.
Just before 2 p.m. Friday, officials with the MSP Second District said that westbound I-94 would be closed to traffic to allow first responders to rescue the driver.
A that time, police said firefighters were working to get the truck driver safely out of the vehicle, adding that the driver was not believed to have suffered any major injuries.
Following the crash, all westbound lanes were closed at Livernois while emergency crews remained on the scene, and cleanup continued.
WWJ's Tracey McCaskill said traffic was backed up all the way to I-75, where there was a secondary crash on the shoulder near M-10. There were also some gawker delays to watch out for on eastbound I-94.
The freeway reopened at around 4:30 p.m., just in time for the afternoon commute.
It's unclear at this time what led to the incident.
