(WWJ) Many months now since former President Donald Trump lost reelection, his supporters aren't giving up the fight.
Participants are asked to bring American flags and handmade signs when they attend a "Trump Won" rally Tuesday in Livonia.
The event, planned from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of 7 Mile Road and Farmington Road, is part of a weekly series organizers say will continue "until Lansing takes seriously citizens’ demands to investigate the 2020 elections."
The parade float-like "Trump Unity Bridge" — often seen at Trump rallies and speeches — is expected to make an appearance at the event.
Rosanne Ponkowski, President of Michigan Conservative Coalition, which is hosting the event, says citizens "deserve and demand" that election integrity become a priority in the Legislature.
“With the continuing revelations about Arizona's and Georgia's troubling election processes, Michigan’s elected representatives need to figure out that voters demand a forensic audit in Michigan,” said Ponkowski. “Until this critical forensic audit is conducted, voters will not trust Michigan elections again. Who won in 2020? Let’s find that out.”
“Grassroots rallies like this one are symptomatic of the doubts and concerns that many Republicans have as to who won the 2020 election,” said Marian Sheridan, Grassroots Vice-Chair for the Michigan Republican Party. “According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 55% of all Americans do support election audits taking place in key states. If faith in Michigan’s voting system is to be restored there must be a full and complete forensic audit.”
State officials have said repeatedly that Michigan's election was conducted smoothly, with transparency and without evidence of fraud.
Michigan certified President Joe Biden’s victory over Trump by more than 150,000 votes; 14 times Trump's margin over Hillary Clinton in 2016.
