MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) Two men have been arraigned in a shooting—resulting from a drug deal gone bad—at a Warren park, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Robert Johnson, 18, and a 16-year-old boy set up a drug deal, with an agreement to meet Illya Green Jr. at the park to buy from him. It happened Saturday (8/31) around 7:40 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Campbell at Martin, in the area of M-53 and 11 Mile.

During the transaction, Johnson and the teen allegedly pulled out handguns and took the drugs from Green without paying. Green then pulled out a gun of his own and fired multiple shots, striking the teen, according to prosecutors.
Witnesses said the man and the teen walked up to the suspect's white sedan, before shots were fired.
The teen is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
"What began as an alleged drug transaction quickly escalated into a dangerous situation involving firearms, causing great risk to the public. These actions endangered not only those involved but also the entire community." said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. "We take this matter seriously and will ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their reckless and violent behavior."
Johnson of Eastpointe has been charged with Armed Robbery (a life felony) Felony Firearm (a two-year mandatory felony), Carrying a Concealed Weapon (five-year felony) and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery (a life felony).
Illya Green Jr., 22 of Oak Park, was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Delivery of a Controlled Substance (four-year felony) and Felony Firearm.
Both men were given a $500,000 cash/surety bond, no 10%. If they're released, they will be required to wear a GPS tether.
They are due back in court on September 12th.
