DETROIT (WWJ) A police chase, that ultimately led to the suspect striking an occupied school bus on Detroit's west side, ends with two people in custody.
Detroit Police said officers saw the suspects, while working a separate investigation, walking out of a home near Greenfield and I-96.
"They saw the people that they were looking for exit the house," DPD Captain Shannon Hampton said. "Unfortunately, both suspects got into a vehicle and ran head on into one of scout cars..."
The chase eventually came to an end in the area of Fullerton and Meyers-- where the suspect's vehicle struck a school bus with three teens inside; according to police.
The school bus then hit another car before coming to a stop, police said.
"The suspects fled the vehicle. There was a brief foot pursuit," Hampton said. "The suspects were apprehended."
According to Hampton, police also confiscated a "handgun, a large amount of cash and narcotics" from the suspects.
Two of the suspects suffered "minor injuries," police said. No one else, including the three teens on the school bus, was hurt.
