DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department is asking for tips from the public as investigators search for a suspect who shot and killed a man at a business on the city's west side.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was caught on camera at the scene Monday night, in the 20400 block of James Couzens, near 8 Mile Rd. and the Lodge Freeway.

Police said the gunman walked into Andy's Market, which is equipped with Project Green Light cameras, at around 9:15 p.m., and acted like he wanted to buy some liquor.

Benham ((bay-nem)) Rasho was working at Andy's Market Monday night .. when a customer walked in and shot the 64 year old. The suspect then pointed the gun at another employee -- and ran off with two drawers from the cash register. Everything was caught on store surveillance -- so detectives have a good description of the suspect.

When the clerk, 64-year-old Benham Rasho, opened a door to exit the cash register area, police said the suspect pulled out a gun and fired shots, fatally wounding the employee. The suspect then pointed his weapon a 37-year-old man, and demanded that he open the cash registers.

The suspect then fled area on foot, heading westbound toward Winthrop with two cash register drawers.

Police did not say how much money he got away with.
