US opens border to vaccinated Canadian travelers [PHOTOS, VIDEOS]

The Ambassador Bridge in Detroit and Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron will be heavy with tourist traffic into the U.S. for the first time in nearly two years.

After being closed for international travel since March 2020, the U.S.-Canada border opens today and fully vaccinated non-essential travelers will be able to enter the U.S.

Those who have completed the series of Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca's vaccines will be allowed in.

Along with Canada, the U.S. is also easing restrictions on travel from a list of countries, including Mexico and most of Europe, after over a year of allowing only essential travel by land.

If travelling by plane, travelers will have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their flight, while unvaccinated Americans returning back to the U.S. will have to test negative one day before arrival.
