DETROIT (WWJ) -- Those with tickets to the “Immersive Van Gogh” exhibit in Detroit will have to wait a little longer for the experience.
For the second time, the exhibit has been postponed due to concerns and delays surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

An email from the show’s producer to ticket holders says the omicron variant has caused issues in meeting the deadline for the show’s opening, which had previously been rescheduled from October to the first week of February.
The new opening date is now set for May 12, 2022, with the show running through Sept. 5, 2022.
Organizers did, however, reveal the location of the exhibit, which had been kept confidential since the show's announcement last year.
The event, which features stunning animated projections of painter Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous works, will be curated at the former Harmonie Club Building on E. Grand River Avenue in Detroit.
Now dubbed the “Lighthouse ArtSpace Detroit,” the 38,000-square-foot building in the heart of downtown will be “transformed into a space where art comes to life.”
The show has been created specifically for that space by David Korins -- the Emmy and Tony Award-winning designer known for his set designs for Broadway productions such as “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”
To thank ticket holders for their continued patience, organizers have also promised free passes to the forthcoming “Immersive Klimt” exhibit, which will feature the art of symbolist painter Gustav Klimt.
A separate Van Gogh exhibit -- “Beyond Van Gogh” -- ran from July through October 2021 at Huntington Place (formerly the TCF Center/Cobo Hall.)
