KENT CITY, Mich. (WWJ) - An argument among a group of teens over the sale of a vape pen in West Michigan led to a 17-year-old being critically injured when he was dragged alongside a speeding vehicle on Thursday.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office said the series of events occurred around 2 p.m. on June 15th as two groups of teens -- aged 15 to 17 -- met in Tyrone Township, near Fruit Ridge Ave. and 20 Mile Road.

Deputies said the occupants in the vehicle sped off, but a Kent County teen got caught and dragged alongside it.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the victim in the road. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators were able to track down the vehicle involved and pieced together what happened. Deputies say the teens all know one another.
Authorities will continue to monitor the 17-year-old's progress in the hospital while they prepare to seek charges in connection to the case. In remains unclear if any arrests have been made.
